About me
Are you feeling low, depressed, or anxious? Are you troubled by intrusive thoughts, memories, and panic? Have you experienced something traumatic? Perhaps relationships feel hard, you feel alone, disconnected, or lonely.
What if you could change this and live the life you want and deserve? Through counselling I can help you explore the things that are affecting you and support you to improve how you feel, and your day-to-day life.
How I can help
I will be alongside you as you explore your feelings and what’s happening for you. If you have goals you want to achieve, we can define those together and look at ways to work towards them. By connecting to your emotions and bringing insight to you, you can begin to find ways to calm your anxiety or lift your mood, while gaining an understanding of yourself and your experiences.
I offer a range of techniques and you are in control of what you want to use. A few examples are: identifying emotions and needs, body and breath work, creatives, using pictures, drawings and cards, unlocking stuck thoughts and showing patterns you may not have realised were present.
Couples Counselling
If you are experiencing challenges in your relationship, couples counselling can be a great way to work on understanding each other, to move away from negative patterns or to reconnect after an affair. Life’s challenges can also cause disharmony such as having children, experiencing loss or living with the impacts of trauma.
Fairness and equality are values I connect with and my work with you as a couple will hold these in mind. I will be impartial and ensure you are both heard, by me and each other. Helping you understand each other’s needs will be a focus and at times we may need to look at how your past experiences affect your current relational needs.
At the start of our work together we will look at what you would like to gain from couples counselling and alongside any specific goals you may have, I can help you improve your communication with each other and move towards a more fulfilling and connected relationship.
** Please note my available appointments for couples are currently on Saturday mornings **
A bit about me
I have a calm and gentle approach; whilst offering challenge if and when needed. I’m passionate about the positive effects counselling has and how the right support can enable you to make changes and become more fulfilled.
As every person is unique, I tailor my approach to the specific needs of my clients, whether it be short-term work or a longer-term therapy.
I work with adults, couples and young people aged 14+, in person, online via Zoom and on the phone. If you would like to work with me, please get in touch and I’ll always get back to you.
Client feedback:
"Nikki has a very open and comforting manner. She has enabled me to open up freely with no judgement which I’ve found essential for my progression through talking therapy. Every session I feel more confident in myself as she provides the best support, knowledge and guidance into my on going journey which I couldn’t do alone. Thank you Nikki."
"Nikki is warm, understanding and supportive. She provides manageable actions for moving forward in a positive direction. I felt calm and at ease speaking to Nikki which made opening up much easier. I would highly recommend Nikki to others looking for support."
"Nikki is a warm & safe space to express any and all of your worries and thoughts. She is patient, kind & very skilled in the ways she allows space for inner revelations & guides the way to self inquiry & awareness so well. She has been a potent part of my recent life transition & I'd highly recommend her to anyone in need of healing & compassion."

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
