About me

I work with adults, children and young people & cover a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bereavement, self-esteem, sexual abuse, bullying, trauma, family matters, intrusive thoughts, repetitive behavioural patterns and more.

I practice face-to-face at my office in St Ives, Cambridgeshire as well as via phone and online.

It takes courage to take the first step, to acknowledge something doesn't feel right, that you need help and to reach out for support. It can feel scary and I get that. I've been there too.

Counselling allows you to talk things through with me - a completely neutral person in a safe, confidential place without judgment. I will listen.

Many of us can feel unbalanced in some way at points in our lives. We may have a feeling that there's something there, that there’s something to unravel but feel unable to access what it is – for others we know what’s causing us discomfort but feel unable to share with friends or family members. I can provide you with a confidential space to explore and unravel whatever is going on for you - without judgment and at your own pace.

Whatever your personal challenge, we can work together to reach your potential as a individual, allow your thoughts and feelings to become clearer, give yourself space and time so that your mental dust can settle, better understand your triggers, perhaps make changes, explore tools to self soothe or challenge unhelpful thought patterns and move forward positively in a way comfortable to you.

The counselling space is yours to explore whatever is going on for you at that time - it may be from the past, it may be in the present, it may be worries about the future.  It may be a combination of a number of different things.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
