About me
My Approach
I am warm, genuine, collaborative, and respectful. Humans need connection to survive and thrive. Therapy is about helping you to understand or come to terms with what it is you are going through to deepen your connection to yourself and others towards a fuller and richer experience of life.
If you have a specific issue you want to focus on that is not mentioned, we can explore the possibility of working together - just email so we can talk it through.
Location
I offer online therapy (e.g. via Zoom/Skype) and/or telephone sessions
Length of Therapy
Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly. A session is 50 mins or 90 mins.
We can decide the number of sessions in the initial consultation but you can change your mind about this at any point. We can work in a short-term focused, and goal-orientated way or open-ended and exploratory way.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with 9 years of experience in counselling and therapy within the NHS and private healthcare. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (Registration No. PYL042182).
I studied at the University of Reading and the University of East London:
- Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DPsych)
- Master of Science in Clinical and Community Psychology (MSc)
- Postgraduate Certificate in Trauma Focused CBT (PGCert)
- Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSc)
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
