About me

Psychological therapy and counselling for adolescents and young people (from 16 years).

I am a chartered counselling psychologist, specialising in working with older adolescents (16+) and young people. I have over twenty years of experience providing psychological services across a range of contexts, including the NHS, child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS), education, private practice and the voluntary sector.

As a counselling psychologist, I have trained in a variety of psychotherapy modalities and draw upon an integrative model, tailoring interventions to individual need. My therapeutic approach is trauma informed, underpinned by an understanding of child and adolescent development and attachment.  Alongside talking therapies, I also draw upon creative methods (art, play, storytelling) to help young people express and make sense of their difficulties. My aim is to create a secure therapeutic space, in which issues can be safely explored and worked through.

Issues that I work with include:

  • Feeling stressed and overwhelmed
  • Depression
  • Anxieties
  • Trauma - PTSD and developmental trauma
  • Bereavement, separation and loss
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Self harm
  • Relationship issues
  • Loneliness

  • Worries about school, college or university
  • Identity issues, including sexual, gender and cultural
  • Feeling stuck or lost
  • Sense of numbness or disconnection
