About me

Hello, and welcome to my profile.

You may be at a crossroads in life, struggling with anxiety/stress or depression. You may be looking to change something, find clarity, or find relief from the pain. Or you may simply want to be heard, deeply. This can be achieved in therapy.

I am a fully qualified psychodynamic therapist (PGDip University of Oxford) and psychologist (BSc). I regard working with people as a privilege. I have enormous respect for those who venture in the journey of self-discovery and I believe quality therapy should be accessible and affordable to all those who need it. That is why my approach to fees will be tailored to your individual circumstances, honouring where you are, not just psychologically and emotionally, but also financially.

I work online and have a few spaces available for face to face work on Fridays, in central Birmingham (Custard Factory).

What can I help with?

I work across a number of areas, including:

  • shame and guilt
  • depression and anxiety/stress
  • addictions and compulsions
  • low self-esteem and self-confidence
  • trauma
  • sexual abuse
  • eating disorders
  • fertility issues
  • navigating change and life transitions
  • multiculturalism
  • displacement, immigration & acculturation

What does 'psychodynamic' mean?

In psychodynamic therapy, we work beneath the surface, unearthing and shedding light on conscious and unconscious patterns of behaviour and thought that may be holding you back from fulfilling your true potential - in your work, in your relationships and your inner sense of self.

By safely giving voice to past fears or anxieties, we create the space for wounds to heal and something new to emerge. We let go to let come.

What might working together look like?

We will work together to build trust and gradually shape the pace and goals of the work, in a safe space.

We use curiosity, compassion and creativity to steadily find a way towards a sense of liberation from unbearable feelings or thoughts, self-sabotaging behaviours, choices or decisions that may seem impossible to make, relationship difficulties, work challenges, feeling trapped, not good enough or hopeless.

Where do we begin?

Please book a free 15 minutes introductory call using the top right button on this page or email me for an initial consultation session during which we can explore what working together might look like. This will also be an opportunity to address any queries or concerns you may have at this stage, enabling us to decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

Should we agree to proceed, we will meet via Zoom or at my office for weekly 50 min sessions, at a time that will be kept constant throughout our journey together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Level 7 qualified psychodynamic therapist and psychologist. With over 17 years experience working in training and development, some years ago I decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a psychotherapist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
