About me

My model of working with clients is to use a person-centred approach although I can where applicable use an integrative model. I believe strongly that the client's voice is heard and respected. I will not rush you into telling your story but sit with you as your painful story is told. I will hopefully help you to free yourself from whatever it is that causes your pain.  Together we can work patiently as you tell me your story and you feel safe and secure in the knowledge that I will hold you as your memories and emotions unfold.  I am non judgemental and I will always offer you a confidential space.

I also offer walking therapy which I find gives clients a very different therapeutic experience. Dogs are also welcome.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I am very flexible with managing a clients needs. I live in the countryside and have noticed that walking for some of my clients has been more therapeutic for them than sitting down in a room. I can also offer online sessions and telephone sessions as well. I have spent the last twenty seven years working with young people and adults and liaising when needed with external agencies. If a client would like to walk and own a friendly dog then the dog is also welcome to join. My priority is my clients well being at all times.
