About me

Hi, I’m Lucy.

As an integrative therapist, I adapt my way of working to meet your needs. Whether you are wanting to learn coping strategies to support you with the current concerns in your life, or would like a space to explore anything that you are being challenged with, we can work together to build an approach that will suit you. I joined the Ivy Light team because their ethos aligns with my own that you should always be at the heart of the counselling process. Providing a non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore your worries whilst collaborating on an approach that suits you will always be the most important.

It can sometimes feel daunting to reach out and ask for support, however, this step shows that you are ready to tackle some of the current stresses and strains that your are experiencing. It is important to remember that you are not alone, and you are deserving of support.

I work with individuals who come to therapy with a range of concerns such as coping with traumatic experiences, dealing with depression and anxiety, managing difficult emotions and harmful behaviours, bereavement and pre-bereavement amongst others. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with children and young people with a range of presenting concerns such as anxiety, low mood, self-harm, low self-esteem and many more. I have worked in schools for many years, and continue to work as a school counsellor.

As a qualified counsellor and therapist, I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I hold a Master's Degree level qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
