Each client is unique. I offer a trusting and non-judgemental space, allowing people room to connect with their feelings and identify issues.

I work alongside clients, they are in control of what they wish to share and leading the pace of the sessions, to explore ways of managing pressure and releasing emotional blocks, caused by trauma and life experiences.

We gradually dig deeper and break down patterns of behaviour which are inhibiting progress, to bring about healing, resulting in emotional, physical wellbeing and transformation.

I discuss what has brought a client to counselling, how many sessions they would like to start with and how often they wish to meet (weekly or fortnightly). I then go through the therapeutic and counselling contract, so we are both committed to the changes they want to make.

I work in a creative way, by helping clients connect with different parts of self. The aim is to get to a better understanding of identity and re-connect with positive areas which have become hidden or lost, as well as giving the opportunity to find new strengths which further contribute to the feeling of the true self.

Areas I have supported counselling clients include

Generalised anxiety, depression, self-harm, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, suicidal thoughts, bereavement, family dynamics, imposter syndrome, grief and loss, social anxiety, trauma, terminal illness, palliative care, loss of identity, burn out, confidence issues, work related anxiety, panic attacks, anger issues, health issues, feeling sad, loneliness and isolation, disability, mobility, low self-esteem, relationships, stress, emotional attachment to self and others.

Life Coaching

I offer motivational wellbeing coaching, to empower clients and support them to work through obstacles in their life and find ways to move forward through exploration in the sessions, with activities, goal setting and action planning all contributing to achieving desired outcomes.

Areas I have supported coaching clients include

Anxiety, stress, confidence, low self-esteem, career progression, giving up smoking, motivation support, self-belief, time management, work/life imbalance, re-training, healthier living, and exercise.

If you have any questions, please get in touch today.

I would love to hear from you.

I attend regular supervision to ensure my work is safe, ethical and I am offering the best possible service to my clients, this is factored into the hourly rate which I charge for my services. If a client and I identify that they may require specialist support which is out of my remit, we will work together through the referral and signposting process.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Feedback received from clients: -

I have been seeing Louise for personal wellbeing sessions for over 2 years now and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Louise has been there for me through some very difficult times and we have worked together to get me through these times with her patient listening, structured face to face sessions, worksheets for tackling certain problems and personal encouragement. Under Louise's guidance I have really grown as a person and am much more able to cope when facing challenges with the skills Louise has given me.
