About me

I offer face-to-face sessions. However, occasionally, sessions can be held via Zoom.

Some difficulties addressed in therapy include anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress, work and relational problems.

Psychotherapy offers a space to explore your situation in a confidential and non-judgmental setting. Sometimes we simply need some support as we share our experiences and sufferings.

In Psychodynamic Psychotherapy we also sometimes explore current issues in light of past experiences - as some of our difficulties began in our childhoods or adolescence. Connecting with and exploring the impact of our earlier experiences or relationships can help to deepen our understanding of current problems. We may also come to a richer understanding of ourselves.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been working as a psychotherapist for eleven years. I have many years of experience working on a one-to-one basis offering emotional, pastoral and psychological support.

I am a registered member of the BPC (British Psychoanalytical Council) and the FPC (Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling) and I adhere to their ethical and professional standards. The BPC is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. Continuing professional development (CPD) is a requirement of my member organisation.

  • BA (Hons) - (King's College, London)
  • Cert Counselling Skills - (WPF, London)
  • Cert Theo - (Cantab)
  • PDip Theo - (Cantab)
  • PDip Psychodynamic Psychotherapy - (WPF and Roehampton)
  • MPhil - (Cantab)

I have attended additional training on Attachment Trauma and PTSD, Boarding School Trauma, Intergenerational Trauma, Life Coaching and Critical Incident Debriefing.

My previous experience includes working in education; in the voluntary sector as a Support Worker and I have volunteered as a Bereavement Counsellor with CRUSE Bereavement, in the HR department of MSF (UK) and in hospital chaplaincy.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
