About me
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page. I provide a non-judgemental, safe, and supportive environment that is client centred, which means that we work collaboratively in a way that works for you. I am trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist; therefore, my background incorporates humanistic, psychodynamic (past into present, unconscious processes), person-centred, gestalt, TA (transactional analysis) and existential psychotherapy (choice, life purpose, meaning and self concept).
For a discussion or clarification around the different modalities and therapeutic approaches, all questions are welcomed, as it's important to find the right fit for you.
Essentially, I am a warm, down-to-earth and compassionate person, as I provide a relaxed atmosphere whilst remaining professional and fully dedicated to our work together.
I am a fully qualified member of the BACP, with over ten years of experience working with vulnerable adults, children and young people within the mental health, charity and non-profit sector.
My area of specialism has been working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, those from marginalised backgrounds who have experienced developmental trauma, neurodivergent adults and young people, those who have experienced abuse and individuals diagnosed with personality disorders.
What I offer:
I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation via telephone. This provides an opportunity to have an informal chat to see what has brought you to therapy, how we might work together, if I am a suitable fit for you and, if not, what alternative services might be better tailored to your needs.
Face-to-face sessions in South Manchester (Chorlton, Stockport SK4, SK5 & West Didsbury) are available, as well as telephone and online sessions – whichever suit you best. I also offer both short-term and long-term work, depending on your goals and what you are wanting from counselling and psychotherapy.
Training, qualifications & experience
Qualifications:
MBACP, Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (with distinction).
BA (Hons) English & Cultural Studies
NLP practitioner (neurolinguistic programming)
I work as a trauma-informed practitioner, as I believe it is not what is 'wrong' with you but what happened to you and how you can find your way back to yourself through the therapeutic relationship. It is also a space to celebrate your strengths and gain some perspective, as committing to counselling can often be the most challenging yet empowering step forward.
I am LGBTQIA+ and GSRD (gender, sexual and relationship diversity) informed and offer affirmative and anti-oppressive therapy, as I understand some of the additional struggles that might come with being part of a minority group. I am also mindful of my unconscious bias and privilege and therefore strive to educate myself through CPD and challenge instilled beliefs open-mindedly.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My previous role as an Older Person's (55+) Domestic Abuse Practitioner means that I have an insight into some of the additional needs of clients within this age range, and how access to counselling and other services can be culturally and socioeconomically restrictive.
I have also worked as a Mental Health Recovery Practitioner and an outreach worker, working alongside individuals who have experienced trauma and abuse and supported them to take back control of their lives, through a supportive, creative and empathetic relationship. Such communities include homeless individuals, those who have been through the criminal justice system and active sex workers.
I am also a certified NLP practitioner, a reiki Master practitioner (level 3) and have completed an 8-week mindfulness course via Manchester Mind.
