About me

Hi, my name is Lacie, a degree qualified counsellor with a passion for people living a life they enjoy.  Life can demand so much from us at times, it can mean we've just got to get on with it but there might come the time we actually need to sit and reflect on the parts where we've just cracked on with.  I'm a down to earth human who meets you where you are. In our time together, we can reflect on anything in your past or current which you feel is impacting on you and your life.

A person centered base offers a foundation to build a trusting relationship where there is empathy, compassion and care with no judgement creating a space for you to explore, learn, heal and grow.  By working integratively, I aim to meet your unique needs by drawing on other theories and approaches.

My role is to sit with you and offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore anything you wish to bring.  With experience at a local Counselling and Psychotherapy service, I have spent time with a range of clients all of which I feel privileged to have been part of their journey.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical framework, I am also an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I believe everyone is an individual so I continue to grow as a therapist through further training and learning to ensure you get what you need from our time together, at the moment undergoing a masters degree in contemporary relationships.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

  • Feeling like you’re not enough?
  • Feeling trapped?
  • I don’t know who I am anymore
  • I don’t recognise myself
  • I am everything for everyone else, but who’s here for me?
  • New baby, what now?
  • Recent change in relationship, what now?
  • Living with debt or financial difficulties?

If these are things you ask yourself or resonate with, counselling can be a place to find the answers for yourself. Low self worth and self esteem, depression, worry can all be explored in the therapy room with no judgement.

If you are living with debt or serious financial concerns, these might be difficult areas to be open about.  I want to put it out there that you are welcome to bring these concerns into the therapeutic space.  No financial advice will be given, but feelings around these concerns can be explored and it can be a place you can be open with absolutely no judgment.  Please reach out about session fees if you are in financial hardship.
