About me
I am trained to work in a trauma informed way. I believe that it is what has happened to you that creates the way you view the world, the way you view yourself and ultimately the way that you behave and feel. This can impact all parts of your life, from your sense of self, to your relationships and your self esteem.
In our sessions I will work with you to understand what you have experienced and endured, and how this shows up in your life in the here and now. Together we will build a relationship based upon authenticity, empathy and genuine connection. I will not tell you what to do, instead I will go on this journey of discovery with you and support you with your healing.
I believe there is no one way to heal, no one way to grieve and no one way to be. I take the time to understand your frame of reference and to discover what is no longer serving you, what you can let go off. Perhaps there is behaviour that you wish to change, or you suffer from low self esteem, maybe you cannot move on from something that happened to you. I am here to support the you in any way that you need.
I offer a free 30 minute online or telephone appointment. In this session, we will talk about your reason for accessing counselling and set a focus and boundaries for our work together. It is also an opportunity for you to see if I am the right therapist for you and not a counselling session.
Alongside my private practice, I volunteer with a charity in Leicester working with women who have suffered violence and abuse. Supporting them through our empathic and deep relationship to find lives that are more fulfilling and less controlled by the effects of trauma. This can involve psychoeducation, supporting my clients to understand why their bodies reacted the way they did in times of stress.
Both personally and professionally I have a keen interest in supporting neurodivergent clients, particularly ASC (Autism) and ADHD. My experience involves supporting close family to access education and social situations, as well as working with young adults in a secondary school setting. I am also passionate about working with adults who are beginning to grow an awareness that they may be neurodiverse, and then supporting them to process their life story with more compassion and understanding.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
