About me

Hi, I’m Kathryn, and I am a qualified counsellor based in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. I work online with clients throughout the UK and in person in my therapy room in Stornoway, on the Isle of Lewis. My approach to counselling is practical and down to earth. I offer a safe and confidential space, not judging or minimising but valuing and respecting each person.

I enjoy working with a diverse range of people, offering counselling for individuals to address a whole range of reasons. I work with each individual to determine how therapy might support them in their particular circumstances. As an integrative therapist, I allow individuals to explore this in their own time through exploring past and present influences, working towards a deeper understanding of themselves, their feelings and thought processes, and finding their way forward.

I enjoy working with those looking for self-exploration and have a particular interest in Highly Sensitive people. Some clients prefer a short-term approach, whilst others find it beneficial to take sessions on a longer-term basis and I offer space for both.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation on Zoom so we can meet each other, with no obligation to continue further on, but allow us a chance to meet together and help you decide if I am the correct counsellor for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Working for 20 years in the third sector, NHS, in charities and with those within creative industries has allowed me to support individuals with many challenges. I believe that counselling should be accessible to all, and I work with clients with all sorts of needs. This includes stress, depression, anxiety, parenting, bereavement, antenatal and postnatal struggles, relationship difficulties, emotional disconnection, low self-esteem and much more.
