About me
I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and supervisor, having previously worked in a variety of agency settings and also in private practice. I now work online and have flexibility within days and times. I am also a supervisor and have been working in this role in agencies for a number of years and have now brought this into my private practice. If you would like counselling or clinical therapeutic supervision please feel free to contact me to discuss how we can work together.
The method I work with is the Integrative model, the centre of which is relationship. Relationship with yourself, others and the world around you. You may be quite clear why you wish to come for counselling or it may be for a general feeling you wish to explore. I offer counselling either short term or longer term and in more depth.
There are many reasons you may be looking for support and understanding in your life; it may be to do with depression or anxiety, relationship breakdown, PTSD, bereavement, historical experiences being triggered by experiences today, domestic violence and abuse, low self-esteem to name but a few. Imagine having the space where you can freely say how you feel and what you think, understand why you're thinking specific thoughts and doing what you're doing and to explore all of this in a non-judgemental environment. With the potential for changing your life for the positive. Taking this first step is often the most daunting.
I am a registered member of the BACP and work to their ethical framework.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
What to expect?
A safe environment and professional relationship to facilitate the therapeutic process. During our initial phone call, which is approximately 15 mins, we will be able to find out what you want to achieve out of having counselling, and be able to book you in for your assessment session.
Assessment Session
I offer an initial session where you can ask me questions and we can establish whether you would like to come and see me. The first session is charged at £50 and is 80 minutes long. This is to allow me to complete my assessment and to ensure I am the right person to work with you, this is something we can discuss. It is really important you are happy and comfortable to work with me this is usually easier for clients to decide once we have met. We will discuss this in the session and if I believe you would benefit from me signposting you on to another suitably qualified counsellor we shall discuss this also. I believe our working together needs to be mutually agreeable.
If we are in agreement we will arrange appointments going forward.
Payment
Payment is weekly in advance by bank transfer.
