About me

As your therapist, my intention is to create a warm and welcoming environment, encouraging you to open up about any concerns regarding your mental health or personal life.

To be effective in my practice, it is important that all my interactions with you are centred around empathy and compassion, while working with you to reconstruct harmful/faulty thinking patterns and behaviours. This balance between showing compassion and challenging unhealthy thoughts and behaviours will assist you in becoming your best self, as you navigate through this life's journey and any psychological difficulties you may face.

Working from an integrative psychological approach, I combine various therapeutic techniques and theories tailored to each person's unique needs. The type of integrative approach I take is assimilative, using Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) as the grounding theoretical modality and accompanying this with elements of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other psychological approaches. Integrating CBT’s focus on behaviour and PCT’s attention to the client’s emotions and them as a whole, causes clients to come into a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings, behaviours and ultimately themselves as a whole. This approach also allows the individual to acknowledge their problems and take the necessary steps towards personal growth.

A successful therapeutic outcome is when the client's perspective of themselves and their circumstance leads to them feeling self-assured and able to cope. The client will begin to overcome their challenges overtime and live a happier, more fulfilling life!

As your therapist, it’s important that I cultivate a therapeutic environment grounded in trust, understanding, congruence and unconditional positive regard. This allows you to experience the outcome from therapy you deserve!

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a bachelors degree in Counselling (theory & practice) and 3 years of counselling experience.

During my experience, I have worked with and successfully treated a range of psychological issues & topics, such as; depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, abandonment wound, emotional neglect from childhood, trauma responses, grief, attachment issues, boundary issues, religious anxiety/trauma, social anxiety, stress, shame complex, addiction, loneliness and a plethora of other mental health difficulties.

Whether you are dealing with psychological issues or seeking personal development, I am available to offer you the support you need on your journey to emotional well-being. The result of us working together in this client-therapist alliance will allow you to take the steps necessary towards finding harmony in your life.

I understand the importance of providing a safe space for clients, allowing them to discuss uncomfortable topics, tap into unresolved emotions, and explore the hidden areas of their lives.

Let me know if you have any other questions. Together, we can work towards healing and personal growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
