About me

Hi, I am Juliet, a Trauma Counsellor & Bereavement/Loss Specialist supporting adults (18+) through some of the significant difficulties and challenges that life can throw our way.

I imagine right now you are reading through many profiles and feeling really unsure who to contact or who might be the right person for you. I know this can be so daunting, let me see if I can help.

Firstly, it is so important to feel safe and comfortable with whoever you choose to work with. You are welcome to contact me, we can arrange an informal telephone conversation and see how we might feel about working together. Maybe I'll be the right person for you, maybe I won't - that's ok, but feeling safe & comfortable is the foundation for really positive therapy work and outcomes. I hope I can be the person to offer you that safe place.

Working together in my private garden room means you won't need to worry about parking, being in a town centre or busy area - just somewhere quiet and calm with space and time to think and process your emotions.

I primarily (but not exclusively) support my clients through the impacts of trauma (past and present) as well as bereavement, grief, loss, chronic illness (either direct or diagnosed in others), life changes/stages and personal/family relationship difficulties - this also includes fertility issues and childlessness.

These events very often lead to unsettling feelings of anxiety, stress, abandonment, isolation, anger, depression and suicidal thoughts (amongst others). I will support you through this challenging time of your life with the objective being arriving at a healthier, more accepting and content way of feeling and being - whatever that looks like for you.

I have experienced my own losses, struggles and challenges. I've yearned to wake up each morning feeling brighter and better able to cope with the world and through compassion and the right support I got there. This is why I want to make a difference for my clients and you can read more in the 'About Your Counsellor' section on my website https://newstepscounselling.co.uk

Face to face therapy is from a comfortable room within my own garden in Bearsted, just outside of Maidstone, Kent. If you feel comfortable with counselling from the security and comfort of your own home, I can offer you this via Zoom or telephone.

Email me today to arrange a friendly, informal chat where we can talk about your needs, hopes and expectations from counselling and  how we might be able to work together either long or short term, in a way that offers you comfort and reassurance. Email.. Info@newstepscounselling.co.uk

If you are a trainee therapist I wholeheartedly support you and your training journey.  Please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.

I very much look forward to hearing from you.

*Face to face work in the Bearsted/Maidstone area of Kent only.  Zoom and telephone UK wide.
