About me

I am a qualified and experienced Counselling Psychotherapist and Supervisor based in Perth. I work with adults  providing both short and long term therapy. I believe that a confidential therapeutic relationship can help us to recover our sense of self-worth, self-esteem and self-respect in order to connect with our true self.

Often we don't understand why we feel the way we do, why we think the way we do and behave the way we do. Psychotherapy can provide the opportunity to explore, make sense of and work through these difficult and painful processes to grow our own awareness through understanding and insight, to help alleviate emotional, mental and physical symptoms. This can help us to live life more authentically and joyfully.

I also offer Supervision having completed the CTSD Supervision training using the 7 - eyed Model.

Training, qualifications & experience

Over the years I have gained significant clinical experience working with a variety of presenting issues including bereavement, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and confidence, childhood sexual abuse, marriage and relationship work, self-harm, sexuality, suicidal ideation, addictions, trauma and kundalini experiences.

My background training is in Transactional Analysis (TA) which is a model for understanding human personality, relationships and communication and a systemic therapy for personal growth and personal change. As a theory of personality, TA gives a picture of how people are structured psychologically and how they express their personality in terms of behaviour.

The qualifications I hold are:
Post grad Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling (Queen Margaret University) 2009-2010
Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling (COSCA) 2006-2009
Certificate in Counselling Skills 2005

Post Qualifying Qualifications:
The Addictive Personality 2015
Emotionally Focussed Couples 2014
Level 1 & 2 Brainspotting (trauma training) 2013
Level 1 Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (trauma training) 2011

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
