About me

I am a BACP registered Counsellor, I work within the BACP Ethical Framework.

I have regular supervision and training to help me review and improve my ability to support you.

My counselling style is based on a Person-Centred, Humanistic and Integrative Approach.

I am a qualified Counsellor fully insured by Holistic Insurance.

I currently work as a Youth Counsellor for Primary and Secondary schools and I have my own private practice at home for counselling and complementary therapies.

Safe space

My counselling room is easily accessible and there is a parking space. Counselling session is 50mins face to face or online.

I provide a confidential and comfortable space for clients whether it is short or long term therapy.

I work alongside each client as an individual and what therapy approach works best for you.

For more information on how it works get in touch and we shall go through the steps of how to start the process and how it will work best for you.

A description of my counselling style:

Integrative counselling draws on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you. An integrative counsellor believes there isn't just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations.

Person-centred therapy is talk therapy in which the client does most of the talking. The therapist will not actively direct conversation in sessions, or judge or interpret what you say, but they may restate your words in an effort to fully understand your thoughts and feelings (and to help you do the same).

Humanistic therapies focus on self-development, growth and responsibilities to help individuals recognise their strengths, creativity and choice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
