About me

If you are thinking about entering into Counselling sessions I know this can be a difficult time for you; not only are you experiencing the issues you have, but you are faced with making a choice of where to go for your appointments. My aim is to always be approachable, empathic, respectful and flexible. I believe in empowering my clients to be in control of their counselling process - whether short or long-term.

My Service:

I offer individuals a professionally qualified, face to face, counselling service in a secure, confidential and non-judgemental atmosphere. I was trained and work in an integrative and relational way; this means I look at my clients needs and concerns then integrate theories, concepts and techniques in order to help the client in the best way possible. I also focus on how my clients relate to others and the world. I am an Accredited MBACP Counsellor and a UKCP Registered Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I have a Masters Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy Practice and an Honours Degree in Integrative Counselling.
Since undertaking specialist training which has been recently updated (2023-2024), I also see couples for Couples or Relationship Counselling. I support a couple as they explore and try to understand the relationship issues or difficulties they are experiencing. Together, I help the couple find a solution that works for them both.

On-line Zoom sessions are also available, if preferred. (Not for Couples therapy).

Each Counselling session lasts for 1 hour. I have full Professional Civil Liability Insurance and Home Business Insurance. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office.

I undertake Counselling for a variety of Employment Assistance Programmes and also for a local Veterinary College.

Supervision Service:

I have a Diploma in Supervision of Individuals and Groups (Level 7 - Distinction) from The Grove, London. May 2023.

I also completed the Certificate in Supervision with the prestigious Relational Academy, Cambridge. June 2016.

My Location:

I am based in the tranquil village setting of Grafham with a dedicated parking space for my clients. I can be easily reached from St Neots, Huntingdon, Buckden, Brampton, Godmanchester, Kimbolton, Staughton, Perry and Ellington as well as from towns and villages close to the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire borders. My practice is near to our Community Village shop.

Availability:

I offer all sessions as follows:

  • Tuesday - from 10:00am until 8.30pm
  • Wednesdays - from 10:00am until 8.30pm
  • Thursdays - from 10:00am until 8.30pm

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
