About me

Hello and a warm welcome to you!

I know it isn’t easy to seek out help during difficult times and a lot of the time we choose to suffer alone in our thoughts. I too have been where you are. Therefore, I hope to share some useful information to alleviate your anxieties and allow you to make an informed decision about the type of support you are seeking.

I  am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means that I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

As a therapist I offer a warm and non-judgemental approach keeping you at the centre of our work. Life is sometimes complicated and intense, therapy can provide a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that suits you.

I offer an empathic and professional approach, walking side by side in your journey to a more peaceful mindset. I have experience of working with a range of challenging mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relationship conflicts and more. With a speciality in Addiction.

Please visit my website for a more detailed description of my experience and the work I offer.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified from Keele University with a MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy

2019-2020
During this time, I worked with an organisation called Place2Be. This organisation offers therapy to children and young people within their high schools. I have worked with high school aged children, from 13 to 16 years of age. Here I worked with challenges such as, self-harm, suicidal ideation and low self-esteem.

2020-2021
I worked for MacMillan hospice at Leighton Hospital. Here I worked with patients and loved ones who had been effected by a diagnoses of Cancer. I worked with depression, OCD, anxiety and stress management. The surface offered therapy to adults of any age and this was over the phone or via video chat.

2021-2022
Delamere Health is a rehabilitation treatment centre in Northwhich where I worked with a range of difficulties, such as:

  • Addiction
  • Substance Misuse
  • Addictive Behaviours and
  • Mental Health Issues

This has given me a huge amount of experience and I have dealt with a wide range of challenging behaviours and difficulties since working there, for example, trauma, ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, addiction, autism and many more mental health difficulties.

Current
I currently work as a freelance associate for high end private rehab facilities in Europe. I work here as and when I am needed which may impact our sessions from time to time. This is something that will be discussed further in our initial consultation.

I offer Crisis Intervention for families struggling with addiction. There is more information about this on my website.

If you would like to chat about what I can offer you then please feel free to email me to set up a free 20 minute phone call to assess what it is you are looking for.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
