About me

Hello and welcome.

I offer a safe, calming, and non-judgmental space to support your journey and feel able to process the difficulties you may be experiencing in life. Life has its challenges and at times can make you feel stuck and overwhelmed. Seeking support can be the first step in helping you feel more in control.

I am contactable by email, phone, and text and will endeavor to respond as soon as I can. I offer a 20-minute free telephone, no-obligation consultation to help you decide if you would like to arrange a 50-minute initial session. When we meet, you will receive a therapy agreement that explains what to expect from the sessions.

I’m based within 2&6 Therapy rooms in Wainbridge House where I offer face-to-face therapy for individuals and couples.  I also offer telephone, and online video sessions and can provide short-term and open-ended therapy.

A bit about me:

I am a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have 9 years of experience working as a qualified Person-Centred therapist. I have experience working with couples, adults, children and young people in a variety of different settings, including schools, charitable organisations and the NHS.

I have also completed training within Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and have worked with a number of different mental health difficulties such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic distress (please see the full list for details).

I work with individuals and couples using an integrative approach, drawing on different therapeutic models such as the Person-Centred approach and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which means I can tailor the therapy to fit your needs.

Professional Standards:

As a registered member of the BACP, I adhere to their ethical framework and code of professional conduct, which assures confidentiality. Any information that is obtained is stored in line with the Data Protection Act. Due to this, I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

I attend regular supervision as part of working within a safe and ethical way. My supervisor will also adhere to a professional body and follow a code of ethical standards.

I am fully insured and have my own Professional Indemnity Insurance.

BABCP
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
