About me

Choosing a therapist can seem overwhelming which is why I offer a free 15-minute chat to help us both decide if we're a good fit to work together before making an appointment for our first session.

Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship problems, stress, loss or have a history of trauma? I work with clients online and in-person, providing a space to reflect, talk, and feel supported in working through your pain.

I know that therapy can be challenging, but by building a relationship based on respect, empathy and genuine interest, I strive to create a warm and inviting space where you can comfortably explore your thoughts and emotions.

Together, we will work towards finding fresh perspectives that promotes self-awareness, self-belief, and inner strength. My aim is to empower you to recognise that you possess the necessary tools to tackle life's uncertainties and achieve personal growth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor and registered member of both the BACP and UKCP, the governing bodies that regulates counsellors and psychotherapists.

I have worked in a range of settings including both the NHS and private practice. I provide support for people from a wide range of backgrounds and ages facing a range of challenges including depression, anxiety, stress and trauma. Sometimes peoples' struggles are linked to emotional injuries from the past that need gentle, careful attention and exploration, while others need to focus on difficulties in their adult relationships, either at work or at home.

The nature of such difficulties is unique and my approach recognises and embraces this. I believe therapy should be as individual as the human beings entering into it. So I do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach. Working together, we will shape how our sessions will run based on your needs and individual circumstances.

I believe the relationship between us to be the most important element in providing support in times of distress. For this reason it is essential for me to create a warm and respectful relationship between us.

I am both a UKCP registered Psychotherapist (UKCP Reg. No. 2011172281) and BACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (MBACP. Reg. No. 393039.)

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
