About me

Welcome! I’m Imogen Hg-Johnson. I am the founder of ‘People of Worth Counselling and Psychotherapy’. I am a highly experienced psychotherapist for individuals and am passionate about the efficacy of my work. My experience comes from working in four different therapy settings: the NHS GP Practice’s, the criminal justice system, public and private law, and private practice.

My expertise is in performance/self-sabotage, and generalised anxiety, work-related stress and silent discrimination, depression, relationship problems, loneliness, trauma (PTSD), loss, identity issues. I also have experience of working with people ‘diagnosed’ with emotional instability through a chemical imbalance (Bipolar Disorder), manifesting in borderline and antisocial personality styles (BPD/EUPD); and with clients who are emotionally over-controlled presenting with perfectionism, who have personalities that are avoidant, ‘workaholic’, obsessive compulsive, paranoid (substance induced Psychosis) and also those chronically depressed exhibiting self-harming behaviours; or who have eating disorders.

Conclusively, I support individuals through a ‘transformational’ process of identifying how their current presentation and inability to reach their full potential, is being inhibited by unconscious ‘blind –spots’ and unresolved trauma from their past.

I work with individuals; aged 13 years old and upwards, who are based in the UK and overseas.

Training, qualifications & experience

If you wish to go on a journey with ‘self ’ at the core of your being. Then look no further than the ‘Winch House’ at the ‘Windmill’ healing and therapeutic space.

As a ‘ transformational therapist’..... I empower and inspire individuals to stop secretly struggling, and to start living in alignment within themselves, ‘Feeling Free To Be Themselves’, so that they can start to reach their own potential.

I also work to a trusted assessment process and formulate a bespoke transformational journey that removes all blind spots, fear, anxiety, and self-doubt. Allowing my clients to make accurate decisions, smarter, so they maximize their own personal results in less time, feeling “free to be themselves” living the choices, the relationships and life they were meant for!

As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist trained to Masters Level; I utilise my extensive skills set of Person Centred Practice, Life Story work, Gestalt Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (CBT informed), combined with Transactional Analysis.

My work is ethical, confidential and non judgemental.

In short, this is your process, and it would be my pleasure to walk by your side.....

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
