About me

I am passionate about my work and the individuals I work with. I believe that even the most troubled person can change the course of their future with the right 'therapeutic alliance' and with the understanding that life will give them whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of their consciousness.

‘If you wish to go on a journey of ‘the self;’ to find a place of acceptance and peace

in the core of your being, look no further than ‘The Windmill at The Winch House.’

Located in the picturesque village of Belthorn, every aspect of my therapeutic practice

aims to gently and safely guide individuals through the process of healing. I quite literally

provide the space for people to accept, grow and connect with their true self.’

Training, qualifications & experience

In 2011 I began studying for my Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and successfully completed this in July 2016. My extensive training has given me a clear knowledge and understanding of how to implement person centred, cognitive, gestalt and humanistic approaches to counselling.  I have become familiar with the techniques recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence and have gained particular expertise in dealing with the various intensities of addictive behaviours and mental health (anxiety and depression) issues that arise from drug abuse, domestic violence, childhood trauma and phobias. I am an advocator of Self-Help, Psycho Social Intervention, Emotion Focused Therapy and Neural Pathway Schema Work, all of which I encompass in my practice as an Integrative Psychotherapist at CRl Substance Misuse Services, East Lancashire.

BA Honors 2001, Pg Dip Integrative counselling and psychotherapy 2014, MA Integrative Psychotherapy 2016.

My approach to therapy is 'relational', 'integrative' and ‘dynamic;’ geared towards evolving. Areas of experience include:

  • Depression ‘a feeling of no purpose’
  • Splits in the 'Self' concept
  • Relationship Dynamics
  • Family ‘power dynamics’
  • Bereavement; ‘Loss’
  • Work-place Dynamics
  • Adjustment to ‘life events; Terminal Illness, Redundancy
  • Trauma as a phenomenon
  • Sexualized Trauma
  • Sexuality
  • Transpersonal Dynamics (Spirituality)

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
