Imogen Hg-Johnson (MA,MBACP Accredited, EMDR) Psychotherapist.
If you wish to go on a journey with ‘self ’ at the core of your being. Then look no further than the ‘Winch House’ at the ‘Windmill’ healing and therapeutic space.
‘People of Worth’ Counselling and Psychotherapy is situated in a unique location in an area of outstanding natural beauty in East Lancashire.
As a ‘trauma informed therapist’..... I empower and inspire individuals to stop secretly struggling, and to start living in alignment within themselves, ‘Feeling Free To Be Themselves’, so that they can start to reach their own potential.
I also work to a trusted assessment process and formulate a bespoke transformational journey that removes all blind spots, fear, anxiety, and self-doubt. Allowing my clients to make accurate decisions, smarter, so they maximize their own personal results in less time, feeling “free to be themselves” living the choices, the relationships and life they were meant for!
As an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist trained to Masters Level; I utilise my extensive skills set of Person Centred Practice, Life Story work, Gestalt Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (CBT informed), combined with Transactional Analysis.
My work is ethical, confidential and non judgemental.
In short, this is your process, and it would be my pleasure to walk by your side.....
I can also see clients out of my catchment area via video link.
Training, qualifications & experience
I successfully completed my Master’s Degree in Integrative Psychotherapy in July 2016. My extensive training and accreditation (MBACP, EMDR Europe) over the last 25 years, has given me a clear knowledge and understanding of how to implement Psychodynamic Techniques: Person Centred Counselling, Life Story Journeys, Gestalt Chair Dialogues, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (for Acute and Chronic Trauma) and Cognitive Interweaves of (Penny Parks) Inner Child works.
I am familiar with the techniques recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, those used within the Criminal Justice System, the NHS, Public- Private Law and in Education- (level one substance misuse). Within my own private practice, I have gained training and particular expertise in dealing with the various intensities of addictive behaviours (Substance abuse, sex addiction, internet addiction, shopping addiction, gambling addiction) and mental health (anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, border line personality disorder) issues that arise from substance abuse, relationship complexities, and both acute and chronic incidents of trauma resulting in maladaptive processing and behaviours.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
