About me

Hello, I'm Ian and I am a qualified male counsellor.

Starting therapy can be daunting, I can understand that choosing a counsellor/therapist is a huge decision.

How I work is to offer you a safe environment, free from judgement to discuss whatever you wish and together we can work towards your goals, we can work at a pace that you are comfortable with.

My aim is to help people who are struggling in some way with their lives, I work with them to reach a place of understanding, to help them get to where they want to be.

I am an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and I work as a person centered therapist.

I can offer short-term or long-term work, face-to-face, walk & talk (outside) or online. I offer weekend and evening appointments.

How I work, I offer the opportunity to speak to me first, I have listed my contact details - phone, email and on social media, and we can arrange an introduction and first session.

These are some of the issues I work with, stress, anxiety, depression, work-related issues, loss and bereavement, low self esteem, and addiction. Please contact me to explore other issues

National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
