About us

Our confidential private talking therapy service is designed to meet your individual needs, with services available for both adults and children.

The aims of our service are to support you to develop coping strategies through therapy and address emotional issues that negatively impact on your life.

Trusting, caring relationships are the core foundation of our mental wellbeing. If we feel safe, secure and valued we are much more likely to stay well and recover faster.

What is Counselling?

Counselling can help lead to positive change with increased self-confidence, self-esteem and the ability to face the future. It gives you the opportunity to talk about issues affecting your life in a safe and confidential environment.

Counselling helps you to explore your thoughts and feelings in order to change behaviours and achieve your goals.

We appreciate that taking the first step to accessing counselling can feel difficult, and we want to make that step as easy as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

In our lives, we all have ups and downs and for most of the time, we cope with them. However, on those occasions when we need some support, then a qualified counsellor may be of assistance.

A counsellor is someone who will:

  • Actively listen without making judgements.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Not give advice or tell you what to do, but they will help you find your own answers, reflect and explore your feelings safely.

Our counsellors are caring and compassionate and will see you for a series of appointments, which can be weekly or fortnightly to suit your needs. You will be offered a range of sessions to improve your sense of wellbeing.

All our counsellors are experienced, qualified, registered members/accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Profession.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
