About me

How can Counselling with me help?

Are you feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed? Stuck in negative patterns of thinking and behaviour? Or perhaps you are trying to find resolution and peace with relationship difficulties. Maybe you are dealing with a loss, an unexpected life change, or are struggling to control your emotions.

Whatever it is that you wish to explore, I offer a safe and confidential space, where you will feel truly heard and understood. My aim is to support you in processing painful feelings, and in developing new skills that will empower you to make choices and choose solutions that are right for you.

As a humanistic and integrative therapist, registered with the BACP, I have experience working therapeutically with adults and young people in schools, charity organisations and in private practice. I have worked across a wide range of issues, which include, but are not limited to depression, anxiety, relationship problems, low self-esteem, anger management, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.

In addition to offering Online Therapy and Face-to-Face therapy in my counselling room in Ledbury town centre,  I also offer Walk and Talk Therapy in nearby Eastnor Deer Park.  Walk and Talk Therapy is ideal for anyone who may feel anxious at the thought of a one-to-one session in a room, or for those who simply prefer the idea of having therapy outdoors.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

I offer both short-term and open-ended counselling sessions.

I believe it is important to find the right counsellor for you, so that you can really get the most from your sessions. I therefore offer a free 20-minute consultation to discuss how I may be able to help you. All future Walk and Talk, Face to Face and Online appointments last 50-minutes and cost £50.00.

I also believe counselling should be accessible to all, so, for those on a low income, I am able to offer a limited number of places, for short-term therapy only, at a reduced rate. Please get in touch to ask about availability.

Further information

I offer short term and open ended counselling to adults and young people from 13 years upwards.

I believe that the relationship between the counsellor and client is one of the most important factors in successful therapy, and you will find me warm, personable, open, and non-judgemental. I seek to build a strong connection based on trust and loyalty, so that we can work together with empathy, honesty, and respect.

Every relationship is unique, and I use a flexible approach to adapt to each person’s needs. My core training was in Person-Centred and Psychodynamic therapy, but I also bring in elements of Solution Focused Brief therapy, where appropriate.
