About me
Choosing a counsellor can be a daunting process. I understand this. Taking that first step to talk with someone about what brings you to counselling can feel like a giant leap of faith. You may not know exactly what you want but just that you want something to change. You may already recognise certain patterns or bahaviours could be impacting on your mental and physical wellbeing. Whatever is on your mind I provide a safe and confidential space for you to take that important first step at a pace you feel comfortable with.
How I work:
I offer short and long term counselling. The therapeutic relationship takes time to develop but is the foundation of how we work together. In the relationship, we can address the types of barriers that can hold us back, keep us stuck and ultimately prevent us from achieving what we need and want. I continuously evaluate how we are working together because the idea of one-size-fits-all approach does not work in counselling and therapy.
Diversity, inclusion and a belief in social justice form the core of my counselling practice. I have worked as a counsellor within an NHS talking therapy service, community counselling provider and in private practice. I have worked for large organisations and for smaller, voluntary and community charities. I appreciate how being seen, heard and valued can often impact our mental wellbeing and physical health.
Issues I work with are, disordered eating, body-image and the many mxed societal messages we receive about our food and health. Other issues like workplace bullying and harassment, childhood bullying, various traumatic life-events, domestic abuse, sexual violence, as well as, family breakdown, addiction and poor mental health. I am also experienced to support clients who may be recovering from ill-health, bereavement and relationship difficulties. I am a strong ally of the LGBTQ+ community as well as, clients with non-binary gender and pansexual identity.
If you feel the time is right for you to start counselling then please email me in the first instance. We can arrange a free no obligation 30 minute initial consultation via video or telephone. I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
