About me

We all face challenges in life, and there are times when we need some additional help to get through them. Working together, we can explore where you are now and define where you want to get to.

As an integrative counsellor and coach, I provide a safe and confidential space to explore past and current difficulties, as well as opportunities to look to the future.  Working together in this way enables meaningful and lasting change to be achieved.

I understand that taking that first step can be difficult.  Central to my practice is building a strong non-judgemental relationship built on trust, so that we can work together in partnership.  I will support you to explore difficult and overwhelming feelings in an emotionally safe way, helping you develop a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself and to find your own path to living a more fulfilling life.

What we focus on is up to you; this may be a specific issue or event, a general feeling of being ‘stuck’ or the desire for a fresh perspective.  Every person is unique, and my integrative and innovative approach means that I can work with you as an individual with your own needs and preferences.

As an integrative counsellor and coach, I draw on a number of different models and theories such as Person-Centred counselling, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and I am informed by Existential and Psychodynamic theory.   If you wish to, I can work creatively, using objects, tactile materials or drawing to help you express thoughts and feelings that are hard to put into words, and to find new perspectives.  Where appropriate, I bring coaching into our work together to explore your future goals and to map a route to move forward.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Registered Member of BACP with a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching (Distinction) from The University of East London. I have a Bachelor's (Hons) degree in Psychology and an MSc in HR Management.

I work with young adults at Ravensbourne University providing counselling to undergraduate students. In my private practice, I work with adults of all ages with a range of presenting issues.

I have over 20 years of diverse work experience; from academia through corporate HR to various roles in the voluntary sector working with young people and families.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
