About me

Hello I'm Erin and welcome to my page, I am so pleased you found me!

Taking the first step to reach out for help can be scary and overwhelming but I will be there with you every step of the way. We will work together to ensure we meet your unique and specific needs during our sessions.

I have experience in helping clients with many different issues and concerns such as stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, self esteem and confidence, self harm, domestic violence/abuse and depression.

I work in an Integrative way, which simply means I use a variety of different methods and techniques to help you individually as each and every client is unique. There is an emphasis on person centred therapy that ensures you are always at the centre of our work together.

Working with me you may experience some of the following benefits:

  • Feeling happier
  • Less stress and anxiety
  • More resilient
  • More confident
  • Better self awareness
  • Tools to manage your thoughts and feelings
  • Better emotional wellness

I am a fully insured and qualified counsellor and I am very passionate about the work I do. I aim to run a friendly, professional and relaxed practice which is online or over the telephone. This allows counselling at your convenience and allows clients all over the world access to the counselling they need.

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied at Ocean Counselling Training for 3 years achieving:

  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma Therapeutic Counselling

I also hold qualifications in the following areas:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
  • Bereavement and Grief
  • Level 2 in Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse
  • Online and Telephone Counselling
  • Trauma

As well as working with most mental health issues/concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress and trauma I have a lot of experience working with clients that are registered as visually impaired and/or blind and I also have a lot of experience working with victims of domestic abuse/violence. I have worked with charities as a volunteer counsellor supporting both of these client groups

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
