About me

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapy). Adhere to and comply with the BACP or UKCP Code of Ethics. I am qualified with BACP accreditation. When working with young people I have Enhanced DBS security checks.

Based in East London, near Stratford Village, I offer a safe space for personal exploration of your presenting difficulties, with a view of helping you to develop and understand your place in the world and so discover better ways of thinking, feeling and living.  Due to Covid-19 things are beyond our control, my priority is to offer you sessions to suit you in the comfort of your own home. Throughout this time I will be offering Skype, video and telephone session

My therapeutic work covers a wide variety of issues and conditions, from minor to complex, both recently developed and long-standing difficulties. Some of the issues I am presented with include but not exhausted to:

  • Anxiety
  • Panic
  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Low self Esteem
  • Stress Management
  • Career / Work
  • Bullying at Work
  • Bereavement / Loss
  • Relationship

Embrace Counselling

I create a safe and trusting environment where you feel able to talk about the issue or situation that is getting in your way. We all go through times where we feel that we need a bit of extra help and by talking to someone who is not connected to the problem may be just the support you require.

My therapeutic approach and way of working is that of Integrative approach. This means at times I will use techniques and strategies, I call these interventions and they help me to help you gain understanding and move towards your goals.

When you make contact with me, I will endeavour to get back to you within 48 hours.

I will offer you an assessment appointment and during this time, I will ask you a range of questions to ascertain why you have come for counselling.  During this time you will also have the opportunity to see if you and the therapist have formed a good rapport to enable you to continue on for further sessions.

Telephone Counselling can be arranged from the location of your choice and easy to fit in with busy work, home or family commitments. At a convenient mutual time to suit you.

Online Video Counselling is real time therapy over the Internet. The software I use is free and easy to download. The benefit of online video counselling is that you are able to see the counsellor for the duration of the session. This approach enables you to attend a counselling session from your own location anywhere in the world.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
