About me

Welcome. I am interested and experienced in helping people with anxiety, bereavement, loss and change, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, abuse, stress, infertility, menopause and life-changing health issues.

I am warm, down-to-earth and supportive, offering sessions in-person, via video call or animal-assisted therapy / ecotherapy, i.e. working in nature with horses.

Psychodynamic Counselling and Equine-facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) are proven ways to help you cope with difficult times in your life and process change. You can opt for either traditional therapy or equine therapy or we can integrate the two to get the best of both. Working with me as an experienced professional can help you to understand yourself better, improve your relationships with others and improve your overall wellbeing. Therapy may be challenging at times but ultimately, I know it can be transformational.

Therapy with horses is a really effective short-term ecotherapy that can help if you feel stuck, are finding regular therapy difficult, or need to be in nature more.  Anyone can benefit from EFP, no horse experience is necessary, and no riding is involved as all the work in done on the ground.

Contact me for an initial confidential, no obligation chat.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor / Psychotherapist, PGDip, BA Hons. I am also qualified as an Equine-facilitated Psychotherapist, which simply means therapy for humans working with horses.

I trained with Cruse Bereavement. I have also trained with the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA) having completed their Foundation Course for Counsellors, as well as training with the Foundation for Baby Loss.

I have a special interest in trauma, loss, bereavement and change, including  infertility, baby loss, and childlessness through choice or circumstances.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
