About me

A warm welcome. You have taken the first step towards positive change. I work with adults and couples and offer a free 20 min phone consultation to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor & Psychotherapist. I work in private practice (online & face-to-face) with adults who seek solutions to Anxiety, Depression, Low self-esteem, and client's struggling with Grief & Loss or Relationship problems. I specialise in Historical Childhood & Family issues, including Childhood Trauma and unhelpful patterns of coping.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work to their Ethical Codes of Practice.

Finding Solutions:

  • I help you explore the root cause of issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety & depression.
  • Support you through understanding and processing past experiences, eg: childhood, which may be influencing your adult life and affecting your relationships.
  • Help you identify recurring patterns of behaviour, defences and triggers.
  • I help you navigate through grief or historical grief, as well as other types of loss such as; redundancy, loss of identity, health etc.
  • I specialise in helping you process trauma, and increase your resilience to trauma responses, that effect you today.
  • Help couples navigate through conflict & identifydefences & triggers, to rebuild & strengthen bonds.

Your Move towards Positive Change

The Psychodynamic counselling approach explores the root of the problem and can facilitate lasting positive change.

Counselling sessions

Each 1-hour counselling session provides you with a secure, non-judgemental safe space to explore whatever issues you bring, so you feel heard and understood. The work we do together is completely confidential.

I offer reduced rates for Online Counselling and have up-to-date training (BACP) to deliver a secure & safe Counselling experience. I also provide In-person Counselling from a comfortable therapy room (in Buxton, Derbyshire), for individuals & couples seeking professional support & solutions.

The duration of your counselling is not time limited and will be tailored around your individual needs.  I offer both short term counselling (6/8 weeks) and long term counselling, as well as single sessions. We can discuss this during your telephone consultation, and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Whatever you bring, my aim is to help you move towards positive change, find the peace you seek, and improve your wellbeing.

Your Next Step...

I appreciate this is a huge leap for you, however, don't be afraid to take your next step. Contact me to arrange a free 20-minute phone consultation. We can have a conversation (without any obligation) to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
