About me
A warm welcome. You have taken the first step towards positive change. I work with adults & couples and offer a free 20 min phone consultation to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
I am a fully qualified and experienced Psychodynamic Counsellor & Psychotherapist. I work in private practice (both online & face-to-face) with adults who seek help with Anxiety, Depression, Low self-esteem, Negative or Intrusive Thinking, Grief & Loss and Relationship problems. I specialise in Historical Childhood & Family issues, including Childhood Trauma and unhelpful patterns of coping. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work to their Ethical Codes of Practice.
Finding Solutions:
- I help you explore the root cause of issues such as low self-esteem, anxiety & depression.
- Support you through understanding and processing past experiences, eg: childhood, which may be influencing your adult life, and help you move towards positive change.
- Help you identify recurring patterns of behaviour, defences and triggers.
- I help you navigate through grief or historical grief, as well as other types of loss such as; miscarriage, redundancy, loss of identity, health etc.
- I specialise in helping you process trauma/PTSD, and increase your resilience to trauma responses, that effect you today.
- Help couples navigate through conflict & help identify defences & triggers, to rebuild & strengthen bonds.
Counselling sessions
- A secure, non-judgemental safe space to explore whatever issues you bring, so you feel heard and understood. Confidentiality is paramount.
- In-person Counselling therapy (from a private therapy centre in Buxton, Derbyshire) and I also provide Online Therapy sessions; and some clients choose a mixture of both.
- The duration of your counselling is not time limited and is tailored to your individual needs, eg; Weekly, Fortnightly, or Monthly sessions.

About Me
I have a warm and caring approach and deliver individually tailored counselling therapy. Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
