MBACP (registered counsellor) Stillwaters counselling

About me

I'm a qualified Counsellor with more than 5 years' experience, offering Online, Telephone and Face to Face counselling. I use a Person-Centred and a Psychodynamic approach.

Sometimes your life's journey isn't turning out how you'd expected. You find yourself struggling with anxieties, fears and negative thoughts. Feelings you've buried deep inside with no one you can open up to, or no one understands you. You struggle with difficult relationships, feeling trapped, or lonely or unable to express yourself. You want to find acceptance, strength, courage and peace in your particular circumstances and to feel more empowered.

I offer a safe (and confidential) place to revisit painful memories and explore difficult emotions, without any judgement or prejudice. I can be there to help you be empowered, and to find paths towards acceptance, peace and better self-knowledge. Together, we can discover the better version of yourself, free from the chains of the past.

Over the years, I've had my own Counselling too. It helped me realise I had a voice and that I had value. Counselling helped me understand myself better, it taught me that I wasn't alone, and gave me tools to better handle tough situations.

I  offer an initial 15 minute telephone conversation to see whether I'll be a good fit for you. All my sessions are open-ended, that way you can decide how many sessions you need. We can review after 6 sessions.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
