About me
Hello and welcome to my counselling practice.
I understand that life can be challenging, and we can often feel overwhelmed. I am here to offer you a safe and supportive space where we can work together to address any concerns you may be facing. My approach is rooted in developing a warm and trusting rapport with my clients, as I believe that a positive therapeutic relationship is essential for healing and growth.
I have years of experience helping individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate through life's ups and downs. My time working in education has given me direct understanding of the stresses experienced by professionals in this sector. I have a particular focus on working with clients who struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, depression and the impact of traumatic events. I have personal experience of facing fear and uncertainty around serious illness and coping with sudden change. I am passionate about recognising and embracing diversity and, over time, have gained extensive knowledge and skills in supporting women wishing to explore relationship issues. Together, we will work compassionately to overcome difficult emotions and experiences, allowing you to move forward purposefully.
I understand that seeking help can be daunting, but rest assured that if you are feeling adrift, I will work with you at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My ultimate goal is to help you to achieve a healthier view of yourself, empower you to make positive changes in your life and move towards a more fulfilling and meaningful future.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment. I look forward to the opportunity of working with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work as an integrative person-centred psychotherapist, which means that I draw on other approaches to suit your needs. My qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy & Counselling (Level 7), a BA Hons degree, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. My work is additionally informed by training in compassionate enquiry, trauma-informed CBT and Existential Therapy. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
