About me
Here you are, considering whether you should talk to someone. Right now you may be feeling confused, tired, just wanting to make sense of your situation - I get it, and hope you will find the information provided here helpful.
I am an experienced licensed and fully-insured Clinical Psychologist and Psychodynamic Counsellor, with 15 years of practice. I have worked in a variety of settings - higher education, community, healthcare and independently, both in the UK and in South America. My approach is based on a number of well-regarded theoretical models, including psychodynamic psychotherapy (my primary influence), existential-phenomenology and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).
I truly believe that for therapy to be effective, we must have the most appropriate, invididual conversation, so you feel supported, find balance and move forward with your life.
What I offer:
I offer regular therapy sessions (50 minutes), either online or in-person, where we'll explore common types of mental health concerns, including general information, signs and symptoms, treatment options, self-care and how therapy can help.
My specialties involve working with anxiety and depression, loss, relationship and self-esteem issues, life transitions, culture & race, gender. I am also a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. As a cross-cultural clinician living in the UK, I offer sessions in English and in Portuguese.
You, your experiences and your individual circumstances are unique – so before we officially start, I will offer you an initial consultation: therapy is not a magic bullet, but you stand a better chance with a therapist whose style matches yours.
An initial session helps us to assess together the potential benefit of our ongoing psychotherapeutic work. I don’t want you to pay for my time until you are certain – so I offer a free 15-minute online chat to understand your situation and explain how therapy might help. Only if you feel comfortable proceeding after that, we will book our first session.
What are the first steps?
Please make contact by either phone or email - giving just a little bit of information about why you've got in touch. We will then arrange to meet for the free 15-minutes call, in which we will discuss your situation and decide together whether therapy with me could benefit you.
Location:
My practice location is in Oxford, accessible by different buses. Parking is available in hour-long bays on neighbouring streets.
I also offer online sessions via Zoom or Google Meets.
Mental health issues can have a profound impact on our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. What affects our daily lives varies between each of us. The important thing to remember is that support is available, and we are not alone in our journey.
Do get in touch – it will be good to hear from you!

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
