About me
Hi, I am Beatriz. I am a psychologist and have a Master's in Mindfulness based psychotherapy.
My work aims to build a safe and confidential space where you can bring all aspects of yourself without fear of criticism or judgment. I work with people who experience low mood and a lack of meaning in their lives; I also work with people experiencing fear and anxiety. I am experienced in working with people who have had adverse circumstances in their childhood.
My training in mindfulness offers you a way to connect with yourself more fully and to develop practical skills for self-listening. This can be helpful if you find yourself disconnected from your feelings or having difficulties in understanding, communicating and/or relating with others.
I am fluent in English and Spanish and I often work with members of the Spanish speaking community who prefer to be heard and supported in their native language.
I also work with people who feel that I can relate more easily to the challenges of adjusting to life in a different country and understand the subtleties of navigating cultural codes both at work and in cross-cultural relationships.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Psychologist (BSc) and I also hold a certificate in Counselling and a Masters in Mindfulness based Psychotherapy (PQMA). I trained as a Feeding your Demons Facilitator, an approach that supports spiritual practitioners with t psychological issues/obstacles in their spiritual path.
I am an experienced Psychology teacher and a certified Mindfulness teacher. I have worked full time as a Psychotherapist since 2017.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
