About me

Hello, I’m Ash. I'm here to share a little bit about how I approach counselling. Choosing a counsellor can be daunting, with so many options to consider. How do we know who might be the right fit for us?

As a Person-Centred Counsellor. My role is to listen deeply, to understand your world from your perspective. Together, we'll look to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your pace and in any direction you choose.

Life can be confusing. It can be beautiful, and it can also be incredibly painful and at times terrifying. You may feel lost, unsure which way to turn. You may have feelings of guilt, shame, fear, or anger. You may feel numb and feel nothing at all. Perhaps you’re sad, anxious or overthinking and are unsure why?

I aim to create a therapeutic environment free from judgment and shame, providing you with time and space to simply be yourself, however, you choose to be.

I hope that through our work together, you’ll feel heard, valued and begin to navigate life with a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your experiences.

I have created a warm and welcoming space for sessions in Kirkham, where I offer in-person, face-to-face counselling. I also provide telephone and remote video sessions online if that is preferred.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
