About me

There are times in our life when we need a little help. Maybe a space to sit for a little while. To talk to someone and tell our story. To be heard. To be witnessed perhaps? Where you can say things you might not say to your friends and family. Maybe things you have never said to anyone at all. A confidential space where you are not judged. I see clients in a quiet and comfortable room, a ten minute walk from Willesden Green station on the Jubilee Line. However, for now I am online.

Human beings are a labyrinth of emotions, experiences, personality traits, genetic DNA and neural pathways; pathways which are open to change and rewiring, even if it feels sometimes like we don't have the power to change anything at all. I offer psychotherapy and counselling. As a psychotherapist I am rooted in Transactional Analysis with an integrative approach. It is my belief that walking a difficult path with someone by your side can make an arduous journey a little more bearable.

I see individuals and couples.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Certified Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy and hold a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling from The Berne Institute. I am an in-house counsellor for the charity Rahab. I have extensive experience working as a practice counsellor attached to NHS GP surgeries across London and an honorary counsellor at MIND. I am a member of several professional bodies; BACP, UKCP, UKATA and EATA and am fully insured. I write for several mental health platforms and academic publications. I have a certificate in attachment theory from the Bowlby Centre. My background is in the arts; an MA in Creative Writing, PG Dip in Acting, a BA (Hons) in Film and am a novelist.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
