Andrew Allan

Welcome.  I specialise in relationships, working with both couples and individuals and compulsive sexual behaviour (sex addiction). I will also support you with a wide range of challenges, from anxiety to bereavement, anger management to depression. I am an experienced and fully qualified therapist and I hold additional qualifications in my specialist areas.

I will firstly put you at ease and provide a warm and welcoming environment. I will then look to put myself in your shoes so that I can see the challenges from your perspective. No two people are the same and so I will work collaboratively with you throughout in order to tailor the therapy to your needs. I will give you space to talk about whatever is on your mind but I believe an active conversation is important so I won't just act as a mirror. I will try to make our time together interesting and informative.

Relationship & Couples Therapy

 I can help with challenges including lack of intimacy, poor communications, family issues, affairs and different values or visions. I will work with you to discover the root causes of your difficulties and also provide practical suggestions to help get things back on track or move you forward. If coming as a couple, I will provide a safe space for each partner to have a voice and support your growth as individuals as well.

Perhaps you feel anxious when in relationships, are stuck in an unhealthy dating pattern or are struggling to find the right partner for you. I will listen to your concerns, help you make sense of them and look towards a more positive future.

Compulsive Sexual Behaviour ("Sex Addiction")

 Understandably, many individuals find it daunting to talk about this and feel shame and/or embarrassment. I will be sensitive to your feelings and will listen without judgement. My main focus will be on  working with you to identify and tackle the root cause. In my opinion this is much more likely to result in long term success rather than concentrating solely on abstinence. I take a sex positive approach with the aim of helping you to enjoy a happy and healthy sex life, whatever that may look like for you.

Being the partner of an individual with compulsive sexual behaviour can be devastating and you may be feeling a whole range of emotions from anger to grief, anxiety to depression. I will be here to listen and help you find a way forward.

 My fee is £60 for individuals and £70 for couples. I also have a small number of concessionary slots.
