About me

Sometimes the challenges from life get confusing or hard to deal with alone and our emotions can feel overwhelming and our ability to cope with everyday life becomes difficult. During these times it can become hard to hear your own voice, our counselling journey will be a safe environment where you can feel supported and understood, allowing you explore and manage whatever is happening in your life. Having an opportunity to speak openly and confidentially to someone who can recognise where present difficulties come from and how they may be linked to past experiences can be very helpful. I will create a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment for you to open up about your struggles and at a pace that feels comfortable to you as this is your journey.

I have over a decade of extensive experience working in social care with hard-to-reach children, young people, and families. Some of the cases I have worked with have included, asylum seekers, homelessness, looked after children and care leavers, challenging behaviour, emotional and behavioural difficulties and disengagement.

On my counselling journey, I have been fortunate to work with a wide range of client groups some of which include, young parents, women who have previously been sex workers, addiction, domestic violence, childhood trauma and exploitation.

I have a non-judgemental approach and my passion is empowering others to overcome what is weighing heavy on them and to help guide them to a positive future. I am always looking to expand my knowledge and skills as a counsellor by attending various training events and courses which aid my professional development.

I am a registered member of the BACP, a member of ICO and have the relevant insurance in place.

I am also a Critical Incident Responder. As a Critical Incident Responder, I am dedicated to providing crucial support to individuals and groups navigating through traumatic events.

In this role, I facilitate debriefing sessions to help people process their emotions, thoughts, and reactions following critical incidents. Whether it's a workplace crisis or other traumatic event, I'm here to provide a safe space for healing and resilience-building.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
