About me

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving us struggling to cope with daily challenges. Emotions may become confusing or difficult to manage, making it hard to find clarity and hear our own inner voice. In these moments, counselling can provide a supportive, safe space for you to explore what’s happening in your life and find ways to move forward.

Together, we’ll create a welcoming environment where you can open up at your own pace. My role is to listen without judgment, help you understand the roots of your present struggles, and work with you to develop strategies to manage them. Whether your challenges are rooted in past experiences or current circumstances, I’ll walk alongside you on your journey to healing and self-discovery.

I bring over a decade of experience working in social care, supporting children, young people, and families facing complex challenges. My background includes working with asylum seekers, care leavers, those experiencing homelessness, and individuals dealing with emotional and behavioral difficulties. As a counsellor, I have supported a wide range of clients, including young parents, women recovering from exploitation, and individuals navigating addiction, domestic violence, and childhood trauma.

I am passionate about empowering others to overcome the burdens they carry and supporting them in building brighter futures. My approach is always compassionate, non-judgmental, and tailored to your unique needs. I continually enhance my skills through ongoing training and professional development to ensure I provide the best possible care.

Specialist Areas

I have extensive experience supporting individuals with:

 • Trauma and abuse, including childhood trauma, sexual trauma, and neglect

 • Anxiety, depression, self-harm, and low self-esteem

 • Addictions, including gambling, alcohol, and drugs

 • Domestic violence and coercive control

 • Homelessness, isolation, and financial difficulties

 • Relationship challenges, anger management, and confidence building

 • PTSD and critical incident stress management

Critical Incident Response

In addition to counselling, I am a trained Critical Incident Responder, supporting individuals and groups in the aftermath of traumatic events. I facilitate debriefing sessions to help process emotions and build resilience, whether following workplace crises or other significant challenges.

“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right-hand corner.’ I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.” - Carl Rogers

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
