About me

My background is in Gestalt and Person Centred, and Pluralistic modalities. My work centres on the client's experience in the here and now. I encourage clients to be curious about what feels live for them and use this as a starting point to explore what needs attending to.

In addition to my 1:1 work, I am now accepting couples for relationship therapy in my capacity as a Trainee Clinical Sexologist.

I approach my work as a collaborative process where the relationship between client and therapist is of utmost importance, and support clients to experience and understand their feelings in a non-judgemental, confidential environment.

I can offer appointments from a comfortable, purpose-built private practice space in South Bristol, or online via Zoom.

I offer a hybrid approach to working - it is possible to work in a mixture of online and in person settings where appropriate.

I am available for long and short term work.

Training, qualifications & experience

In addition to my private practice, I have experience working in a variety of voluntary settings and with young people aged 18 + in a Higher Education setting.

I am BACP Accredited. I hold a professional diploma in Gestalt counselling and psychotherapy, an MSc in Applied Psychology and am continually undertaking long and short forms of professional development.

I am currently undertaking professional development to achieve a diploma in Clinical Sexology. In my capacity as a Trainee Clinical Sexologist, I welcome enquiries from individuals and couples presenting with sex and relationship issues including affairs, mismatched desire, sexual function, and compulsive sexual behaviours.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
