About me
People have told me that they find it easy to talk to me. I try to create a warm and safe place to discuss difficult situations. I have always enjoyed meeting people - and past clients have commented that they felt at ease and able to talk openly, quite soon after meeting me.
Sometimes in life we are faced with difficult decisions, or we feel we are at a crossroads, or 'stuck' in a situation, and are not sure which way to turn. I have 22 years of experience in working with people of all ages; adults, couples, adolescents and children.
I will offer a calm and confidential place to talk through your concerns. This will allow you the space to discover ways you may want to change. Making even small changes can make a huge difference to your present circumstances, and talking to someone who is not related to you and who will not be affected by what you say, can be very releasing.
I trained as an Integrative Counsellor, which means I use several different styles of counselling and match what I think will help my clients the best. I believe that forming a trusting relationship is often the key to successful counselling.
I have extensive experience in helping clients with many different issues, including anxiety, anger management, depression, stress, low self esteem, addictions, post traumatic stress disorder, relationships, eating disorders, and many others (for a full list see below).
I have retired from working part time at an Independent Public School as a school counsellor, and have extensive experience with young people. I now work exclusively in my private practice, which I have been running for 22 years seeing all age ranges, in many different situations and with many different concerns.
I am a Senior Accredited BACP Counsellor and am on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors. I am also a Supervisor, supervising other counsellors and organisations.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
