About me
I work with couples and individuals. I am currently working online via Zoom and by phone. I love working with people who are ready to make changes in their lives. People who want to understand themselves better and transform their relationship with themselves and with others. I am an integrative psychotherapist with over 19 years experience of working professionally with a wide range of issues including; anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, bereavement, anger management, eating disorders, and family problems.
If you want to improve your life I'm here to guide you, to support you and to challenge you. I will help you get to the bottom of what holds you back and work with you to get out of your own way, leading to a more satisfying way of living.
All of us face challenges in our lives and at times these challenges may feel overwhelming or too difficult to cope with, the way I work is conversational and supportive, I provide a confidential and accepting place to help you manage and explore whatever you are going through.
Psychotherapy can help us to understand and gain awareness of ourselves and our behavioural patterns, allowing us to take control of our lives and have choices about what we do and how we do it. We can become conscious of how we respond to and express different emotions, how we communicate, how we form and maintain relationships or how we manage conflict, and therefore we can develop the capacity to change things for the better.

Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 19 years experience of working privately with individuals and as a volunteer for Samaritans and the mental health charity Mind. I have also run practical mindfulness courses, post-natal support groups and a group for people with chronic illnesses within the NHS.
I'm currently training to become a certified RLT practitioner with Terry Real, author of 'Us:Reconnect with Your Partner and build a Loving and Lasting Relationship'
My training includes:

I am an accredited member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

In our initial session, you will be able to talk about whatever has led you to seek therapy and what you are hoping to gain from it, you will be able to find out more about how the sessions will work and get a sense of how we might work together. If for any reason I think another therapist would be a better fit for you I will let you know. If we decide to continue working together I'll book further sessions for you.
