Ruth Overington MA MBACP (Accred) and Counselling Supervisor
I offer a confidential, empathic space in which you can explore your issues and worries. Supporting you to recognise and build on your own strengths and resources. I provide counselling for adults and supervision for qualified counsellors, students and other professionals.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, confused or low about issues in your life. Counselling can allow you space to explore this, giving you a chance to build a better understanding of yourself and your relationships.
My main training is Integrative, this means that I am able to draw my theoretical knowledge from three main counselling approaches, cognitive behavioural, humanistic and psychodynamic.
I work with this knowledge, offering counselling that emphasises the importance of the relationship between client and counsellor whilst using skills and techniques that are appropriate for each individual.
I work with issues around: Stress, Anxiety, Bereavement, Relationships, Depression, Self harm, Eating/food issues, Self-esteem, Abuse, Trauma, Anger, work related issues... If I have not included anything that relates to you please feel free to contact me for further discussion, as it is not always easy to name our issues.
