About me

With more than 20 years experience and training in Psychology, Counselling and Therapy I offer a safe, professional, friendly and confidential service for adults, young people and children in Chester presenting with difficulties including -

I work with short-term therapy (typically between 6 - 12 sessions), and long-term therapy for those who have more complex difficulties. This will be discussed during your intiall session, but there is always flexability in the way we work together and can be reviewed at any time.

Sessions are offered face to face in my modern, comfortable and accessible consulting rooms, or either via telephone, Skype or face time if you cannot travel to me.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I offer a free informal 30 minute telephone discussion prior to your initial appointment to determine whether I am able to help and to answer any questions you may have before we meet.

Fees are then £50.00 per 50 minute session for individuals and £75.00 for a 60 minute family and couples sessions.  Telephone and Skype sessions are charged the same rates.

I operate a sliding scale for OAP's, Students and those who have financial difficulties

Payment accepted by either cash or via BACS online bank transfer

Organisations will be invoiced on a monthly basis

My consulting rooms are set in a quiet, safe and secure environment. They are designed to offer you a modern and comfortable environment for you to feel safe to discuss your difficulties as you wish.
The consulting rooms are accessible from all motorways and are 5 minutes form the city centre. There is disabled access into the building and parking is available

Telephone Counselling and Skype are also available.
