About me

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist offering face-to-face sessions in Watford town centre or remote sessions by Zoom. I can offer you my support, encouragement and empathy as well as my understanding and professional experience to help you explore whatever might be troubling you. I have supported people with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, self-harm, suicidal thoughts and trauma.

I am trained in a number of different approaches and tailor my way of working to suit you. We might look at your life now to help you make positive changes or we might explore your past experiences and life patterns and work at a deeper level. However we work, I am not a silent observer but an active participant in the process.

The relationship between us is key to the success of your therapy and it is important for us to feel we can work together and for you to feel comfortable with me. I offer an initial session at a reduced cost to give you an opportunity to meet me with no obligation to continue, so if you feel ready to take that first step or if you would like any more information, please do get in touch. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy - Metanoia Institute / Middlesex University (Distinction)
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression - Metanoia Institute / NHS Talking Therapies

Alongside my private practice, I currently work in an NHS Talking Therapies service, and as an examiner on the Counselling for Depression / NHS Talking Therapies training programme at Metanoia Institute. I previously worked for Mind and Cruse Bereavement Care and have experience of working with clients with a wide range of emotional issues.

I am a registered member of the BACP and UKCP and adhere to their ethical frameworks.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
