About me

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a qualified counselling supervisor for individuals and groups. I work with a wide range of issues and provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore any concerns you might have. I offer long and short term therapy to suit individual needs.

My work is informed by Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches and I take a particular interest in exploring the way our past informs our present and allowing for new awareness and insight into current issues.  I believe in every person`s own uniqueness and ability to grow and change but sometimes it can feel difficult to take the first step. This is why finding the right person to support you in your journey of self discovery is important. I aim to create a trusting relationship with my clients, so they would feel safe to explore their problems, identify patterns and repetitions, and find solutions to their problems.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have trained over a number of years and have gained experience working with a wide range of issues in both short and long term settings. I have worked as a counsellor for the NHS and various agencies in the voluntary sector, as well as privately. My experience covers a diverse range of clients, presenting with a broad range of issues. I work under regular and ongoing supervision, and I am committed to continuous professional development.

Some of the issues I work with are relationships, depression and anxiety, childhood trauma, bereavement and loss, attachment and separation, confidence and low self esteem, sexuality and identity.
As well as offering insight oriented therapy, I help clients cope with high levels of stress, depression, anxiety and panic attacks.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
