About me

Welcome to my profile page

My name is Tricia and I am a Psychosynthesis Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

My approach is integrative, which means my modality of work draws from different schools of psychology and my core training is in Psychosynthesis – a psychological approach that sees difficulty as opportunity and acknowledges personal uniqueness and which facilitates opportunity for self-awareness, growth and personal transformation.

I abide by the code of ethics set by the BACP. And I work in private practice both online and person facing.

I understand the initial steps to reaching out for support can feel a little daunting. It takes courage to sit with the tension of inner struggle and the uncertainty around what might unfold, should you begin to explore.

I offer a safe relational way providing a confidential, warm supportive space to enable trust and help you to gather a deeper understanding of your current difficulty. And hopefully, you will feel secure enough to express yourself and share your story at a pace appropriate for you. As a therapist, I will walk alongside you supporting from a stance, of a fellow traveller, rather than an ‘expert authority’.

My approach style is gentle enquiry encouraging collaboration with an element of appropriate challenge, where it can offer you benefit. I will meet you where you are at offering respect to your autonomy. We can work at a pace that is suited to you. I sometimes invite working creatively, this can be useful to look beyond the current challenges that you might be experiencing. We can explore together, supporting you to find your own inner understanding, so to develop greater self-awareness and acceptance, this type of approach appeals to those who long for a more authentic and truer experience of themselves. So, I can adapt my approach using different resources to tailor the therapy to best suit your needs and offer a fit that which feels the most meaningful for you.

‘What we call the personality is often a jumble of genuine traits and adopted coping styles that do not reflect our true self at all, but the loss of it’ - Gabor Maté

Therapy is an investment in yourself. And it is my belief that each person holds innate capability to heal the past and move forwards towards making the shift and changes in finding their way. I can support you to manifest the changes which feel right for you.

Getting in touch

It is important for you to find the right therapist. So, I would suggest having an initial conversation. This would give you the opportunity to speak about what is going on for you. And you can ask questions about me, and how I work as a practitioner, so you can see if what I offer is the right fit for you.

To arrange this initial free slot, you can contact me via by email to arrange a time for a chat, and we can go from there.

If you then decide further to our conversation that you would like to work with me, we can find a mutually agreed time slot to follow.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
